History
In 2017, CARWIZ opened its first three corporate locations in Croatia and after just one year became a respectable rent-a-car company with international aspirations. During the first two years of operations, we realized higher revenue growth than planned and achieved notable results in terms of brand awareness and market positioning.
In 2018, at the largest tourism fair, World Travel Market in London, we presented an innovative franchise business model and became the first Croatian car rental company to expand its business beyond its borders through a franchise network. After achieving twenty franchise partnerships around the world and entering the European, African, and Asian markets at the end of 2019, CARWIZ rent a car entered the United States, which was followed by further expansion to New Zealand, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Canada in 2022.
During the COVID pandemic, following global market recovery, CARWIZ managed to have a very successful 2023, further expanding to Europe and Americas and entering 2024 with new partners, expanding to Gulf countries with the strongest market positioning in UAE and Saudi Arabia following a two-year strategic plan to expand to North African countries and further European expansion.
