Additional driver fee is 10.00 per day Driver`s age and driving license requirements apply to additional drivers. The number of additional drivers is limited to the number of passenger seats in the vehicle rented. Request to add drivers is made upon pickup at the rental counter. Additional drivers should present the required license documents along with the main Driver`s for authorization at the time of pickup.

A vehicle that is returned after hours will not be checked out until the next business day. If returned after hours when a branch is closed, the customer is responsible for the vehicle until satisfactory check-in of the rented vehicle on the next business day.
- AGE
- Age
The minimum age requirement to rent a vehicle with Carwiz is 21, but there is a young driver surcharge for all customers renting a car under the age of 25. Under 21 car rental is available in New York State (information below) and for military personnel and government employees. Charges vary depending on the rental location.
Car Rental Age Requirements and Additional Information: Car rental rates may be higher for renters between the ages of 21 and 24, underage driver surcharge may apply. The primary renter and additional drivers of the vehicle must be at least 25 years of age to avoid underage driver surcharge. Certain specialty and larger vehicles may not be rented to drivers under the age of 25. U.S. military personnel and government employers 18 years of age or older will not incur a young driver surcharge when renting for an authorized official trip. There are different age requirements for car rentals in New York.

- Collision Damage Waiver
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is offered at the time of rental for an additional daily charge. If the renter accepts CDW, Carwiz affiliate waives or reduces the renter’s responsibility for loss of, or damage to, the rental vehicle (including but not limited to towing, storage, impound, and administrative fees subject to the terms and conditions of the rental agreement and applicable laws. CDW is not insurance. The purchase of CDW is optional and not required to rent a car. The protection provided by CDW may duplicate the renter’s existing coverage. Carwiz affiliate is not qualified to evaluate the adequacy of the renter’s existing coverage, therefore the renter should examine his or her credit card protections, automobile insurance policy, or other sources of coverage that may duplicate the protection provided by CDW.
When deciding whether or not to purchase CDW, you may wish to check with your insurance representative or credit card company to determine whether, in the event of damage to, or the ft a vehicle, you have coverage or protection for such damage or theft and the amount of your deductible or out-of-pocket risk.

Vehicles cannot be driven from into Mexico. Please see the Rental Restrictions policy for more details.
Out of province fee for travels to Alberta, State of Washington, State of Oregon is $20.00/day throughout the entire rental period. If traveled outside of British Columbia without informing and receiving written consent or if travel to any other province or state besides Alberta, State of Washington, State of Oregon, Carwiz/West Coast Car Rentals will charge $0.59/KM for every kilometer driven from the Start of Rental to End of Rental.

At selected airport locations, debit cards are only accepted at the time of rental if accompanied by a ticketed return travel itinerary. The name and address shown on the renter’s driver’s license must match their current home address. Active duty military personnel are exempt from address requirements.
If using a debit card for any of the above amounts, the available funds in the account associated with Renter’s debit card will be reduced by those amounts. Additionally, Renter is responsible for any overdraft fees incurred.
Please read the Forms of Payment policy (see below) for additional details pertaining to the use of debit cards at this location.

- Deposit Amount
To account for the Renter potentially incurring additional amounts owed under the Contract, renters will be required to provide a deposit of $750 - $25000, depending on the car class.
- DRIVERS LICENSE
- DRIVER’S LICENSE INFORMATION
Customers who reside in the United States, U.S. Territories, or Canada
Customers who reside in the U.S., U.S. Territories, or Canada must present a valid, unexpired government-issued Driver’s license which includes a photograph of the customer. Digital licenses are not accepted. The driver`s license must be valid for the entire rental period.
Members of the United States Armed Forces who are on active duty may present an expired home state license under the following conditions:
|li| They also present an Active Military ID, and
|li|They are in compliance with their military extension policy of the state which issued the license. These policies vary by state and customers are encouraged to check with the appropriate department of motor vehicles for more information.
Customers travelling to the U.S. and Canada from other countries
It is important that customers check with the appropriate Department of Motor Vehicles in the States or Provinces in which they intend to travel to ensure compliance with their various licensing laws. The following practices are used to ensure the customer is presenting a facially valid license at the time of rental.
Customers traveling to the United States and Canada from another country must present the following:
|li|Their home country driver’s license that is valid, unexpired and includes a photograph, and
|li|If the home country license is in a language other than English (or French, for rentals in Canada) and the letters are English (i.e. German, Spanish, etc.) an International Driver’s Permit is recommended, but not required, for translation purposes in addition to the home country license.
|li|If the home country license is in a language other than English and the letters are not English (i.e.alphabet is not an extended Latin-based alphabet like German or Spanish but is Russian, Japanese, Arabic, etc.) an International Driver’s Permit is required.
|li|If an International Driver’s permit cannot be obtained in the home country, another professional, type-written translation may be substituted. In either case the home country license must also be presented.
|li|Customers may not rent a vehicle solely with the International Driver’s Permit. The International Driver’s Permit is a translation of the individual’s home country license and is not considered a license nor is it considered valid identification.
|li|In some US locations, customers not holding a US driver’s license may be asked to provide additional documentation. Examples of this may include a valid passport or, in certain states (AZ, CA, CO, NM, TX) a valid Mexican voter registration card and/or inbound and outbound travel documentation.
|li|In some Canadian locations, customers not holding a Canadian driver’s license may be asked to provide additional valid government-issued documentation. Examples of this may include a valid passport.
Other requirements
|li|Photocopies of Driver’s Licenses are not accepted
|li|“Learner’s Permits” are not accepted.
|li|Any license which, on its face, restricts the licensee to the use and operation of a vehicle equipped with a form of a breathalyzer apparatus is not accepted.
|li|Temporary Driver’s Licenses may be refused if the renting location is unable to otherwise verify the customer’s identity or verify the authenticity of the temporary license. Additional Government-issued identification may be required.
- FUEL
- Refueling Service
As a customer, you have a choice as to how you would like to pay for fuel.
Option 1 - Prepay Fuel (if available) -- This option allows the renter to pay for the full tank of gas at the time of rental and return the tank empty. The price is based on an estimate of current fuel prices and the average tank size for the car received. No refunds will be issued for unused gas.
Option 2 - We Refill. -- This option allows the renter to pay Carwiz at the end of the rental for gas used but not replaced. Price per gallon will be higher than local fuel prices.
Option 3 - You Refill. -- This option allows the renter to return the vehicle with a full tank of gas to avoid extra fuel charges.

- Rental Restrictions
Most vehicles rented in the U.S. can be driven throughout the U.S. and Canada. Some classes of vehicles such as Exotics, Large Passenger or Cargo Vans and other specialized vehicles cannot travel outside the U.S. Please check directly with the rental location for details on cross-border restrictions. Most locations do not allow travel to Mexico. If you wish to travel to Mexico, you will be required to purchase additional insurance to cover the vehicle while in Mexico. Please contact the branch directly to determine limitations and availability.

Should you purchase an Inclusive Rate Package please note that Collision and Third Party waivers, as well as Taxes and Fees are included in your rate. You will remain responsible for any coverage excess as listed under Insurance or Damage Waiver. NOT included in your rate is the Fuel, Underage Drivers Fee, Additional Drivers Fee and special Equipment such as baby seats GPS or cell phones, toll roads usage fees, any additional coverage or any other option.
Insurance Verification
At the time of rental, Renters without a ticketed return travel itinerary must provide evidence of a transferrable auto collision, comprehensive and liability policy for all vehicle classes.

There are certain fees that may be associated with one-way rental car reservations. One Way Rental Fee (OWF) varies by rental location, return location and time of year.

- OPTIONAL PROTECTION PRODUCTS
- Personal Accident Insurance / Personal Effects Coverage
Personal Accident Insurance/Personal Effects Coverage (PAI/PEC) is offered at the time of rental for an additional daily charge. If accepted, the PAI contained in the policy provides renter and renter`s passengers with accidental death, accident medical expenses, and ambulance expense benefits. The PEC contained in the policy insures the personal effects of the renter, additional drivers, or any member of the renter`s immediate family who permanently resides in the renter`s household and who is traveling with the renter against risks of loss or damage. Benefits are payable in addition to any other insurance coverage the renter or passengers may have. PAI/PEC is subject to the provisions, limitations, and exclusions of the PAI/PEC policy underwritten by the rental location’s insurance company policy. The purchase of PAI/PEC is optional and not required to rent a car. The coverage provided by PAI/PEC may duplicate the renter`s existing coverage. Carwiz affiliate is not qualified to evaluate the adequacy of the renter`s existing coverage; therefore, the renter should examine his or her personal insurance policies or other sources of coverage that may duplicate the coverage provided by PAI/PEC.
Supplemental Liability Insurance (Where available)
Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) is offered at the time of rental for an additional daily charge. The purchase of SLI is optional and not required to rent a vehicle. SLI provides you with up to $1,000,000 of increased liability protection should bodily injury and property damage claims be made against you by people injured in an accident. SLI safeguards your insurance policy and/or your assets for the first $1,000,000 should such claims be made against you. Supplemental Liability Insurance also provides uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage up to $1,000,000 per occurrence for combined bodily injury and/or property damage claims. The purchase of SLI is optional and not required to rent a car. The coverage provided by SLI may duplicate the renter’s existing coverage. Carwiz affiliate is not qualified to evaluate the adequacy of the renter’s existing coverage; therefore the renter should examine his or her personal insurance policies or other sources of coverage that may duplicate the coverage provided by SLI.

Carwiz Rent a Car provides a car rental affiliate reservation system and acts as an agent for the convenience of you the customer and the local owned and operated car rental firm. We use reasonable commercial efforts to insure the accuracy of all information posted on our website or distributed to other websites. Our liability, if any, shall be limited to the amount of rental charges paid to us. The terms, conditions and prevailing law covering the rental shall be those stated on the rental contract presented at the actual rental location.
Additional Information
All quoted rates are in US Dollars and Payments will be taken in the local currency and converted at the day of hire rate. Any changes to the reservation or rental may result in a change of rate or an additional fee. Overtime charges occur when the renter returns the vehicle past the return date or time specified on the rental agreement. In other words, the car must be returned no later than the same time it was rented, in order to avoid any overtime charges. We do provide a one hour grace period. Makes and models are examples only and are not guaranteed. There are no refunds for early returns. Additional charges will be collected in local currency at the time of payment.
- OVERSTAY
- Late Return Fee
In general, there is a 59-minute grace period for daily rentals. If the vehicle is not returned within 1 hour from the time it was rented, additional charges will apply. If you return the vehicle 1 hour or more from the time it was rented on a later day, you will be charged an additional day`s rental.

The Estimated Total for the rental on the Review and Reserve screen and/or in the email reservation confirmation will be charged to the form of payment provided by the Renter. If the rental as reserved is modified, the estimated total amount for the rental may change and would still be charged to the form of payment provided by the Renter.
At the time of the rental, the Renter will sign a rental contract (the “Contract”) which applies to the rental and includes a Rental Agreement Summary and the Additional Terms and Conditions.
Additional Information
Debit cards are only accepted at selected locations at the time of rental if accompanied by a ticketed return travel itinerary.
Renter must use an above listed form of payment for the deposit amount. The deposit amount will not be available for use by Renter and/or refunded to Renter until after the vehicle has been returned.
If Renter incurs additional amounts owed under the Contract, those additional amounts may be deducted from Renter’s deposit amount, if applicable. If those additional amounts are not deducted from the deposit amount, if applicable, they will be charged to the form of payment provided by Renter at the time of rental unless Renter provides a different above listed form of payment to be charged.
If using a debit card for any of the above amounts, the available funds in the account associated with Renter’s debit card will be reduced by those amounts. Additionally, Renter is responsible for any overdraft fees incurred.
Money orders and prepaid cards are not acceptable forms of payment at the time of rental, including for the deposit amount, but may be used to pay any amounts due at the end of the rental after the vehicle has been returned. Cash is not accepted.
In addition to one of the above listed forms of payment, credit cards with sufficient available credit which are listed on Renter`s Profile will be accepted as payment for all amounts owed under the Contract.
All amounts owed by Renter under the Contract will be submitted (a) as an authorization to be a hold against and ultimately charged to Renter’s credit card or debit card, or (b) to be charged to Renter’s debit card.
Please read the Renter Requirements policy (see above) for additional details pertaining to the use of debit cards and general rental requirements at this location.
- PICKUP/DROP
- PICKUP INSTRUCTIONS
The rental counter and vehicles are located onsite(In Front of Marriot Pinnacle Hotel). Address: 1156 West Hastings St, V6E 4R5 Vancouver, Canada. Customers returning overnight will need to park under ground parking level 5 in stalls #384 to #394 and/or #400 to #404. The key will have to be dropped through our mail slot. Please note car will not be inspected until the next business day therefore the customer will be held responsible for damages until the car is inspected. Shuttle service is not available.
- RESERVATION HOLD TIME

If you are more than 60 minutes late to pickup your vehicle, rental location may mark your reservation as a No-Show and may rent the vehicle to other customers. Please call the branch directly and inform them of your late arrival to make sure your reserved car awaits you.
- SMOKING
- Smoking is prohibited in all our vehicles. Penalty will be charged to the renter locally.
